100 Years of Engineering Excellence

Ideal Boilers has come a long way since the paperwork to build the Hull site was signed and completed in 1905. 100 years on and Ideal has built a reputation for high quality products that continue to meet the ever- changing demands of the marketplace. From taking boilers out of basements into kitchens in the 1920s, through to introducing high efficiency technology into the UK in the 1980s, Ideal has consistently been a pioneer in design and engineering. Today, the company remains at the forefront of the domestic and commercial heating markets, still leading the industry in setting new standards and expanding technological boundaries.

Ideal CookanHeat

In the beginning...

One of the earliest results of the company producing its own designs was the development of the Ideal Cookanheat. The revolutionary freestanding stove combined an open fire central heating boiler, cooking oven and hot cupboard and did more to introduce central heating into lower priced homes than any other single appliance.

Following the success of the Cookanheat, Ideal has continued to remain true to its principles of quality, innovation and value. From the Cookandheat, to harnessing gas power in the 1930s, through to high-efficiency in the 1980s, Ideal has always been ahead of the game.

Leading the Way to High-Efficiency

Ideal was one of the first manufacturers to introduce high-efficiency to the UK. In response to the government's drive towards energy efficiency, Ideal has continued to expand and develop the company's range of high-efficiency boilers. As well as the already successful icos and isar range, Ideal's portfolio also includes the new istor, providing installers and homeowners with a wider choice of SEDBUK A rated boilers for any type of home.

Looking Forward

With the amends to Part L bringing major changes for the heating industry, Ideal will continue to build on its rich heritage and look forward to the future.
