A system boiler is the modern expression for, basically, a heat-only boiler. But with all the necessary extras to fit to a sealed, fully pumped heating system built in. This allows quick and easy installation. (Also looks a lot tidier than the a low water content boiler with the necessary extras to make it a sealed system)

These are larger then a standard heat-only boiler because of the extra components within the boiler, but are a lot easier to install.

A system boiler contains an expansion vessel with a pressure relief valve, gauge and filling loop together with a pump, which is the basic difference between a heat-only boiler and a system boiler.

With a conventional heating and hot water system a separate feed and expansion cistern and circulating pump are required to be installed. The system boiler incorporates all the major components built-in. All of them pre-wired, pre-plumbed and pre-tested for greater reliability as well as a quicker and neater installation.
